balanced and unbalanced

Reference https://www.physicsforums.com/threads/drawing-free-body-diagrams.458441/

These are two free body diagrams the picture is balanced and the link is not. You know if they are balanced because the lines are the same length or they are the same numbers. But you can tell if they are unbalanced if the lines are uneven or they have different numbers.

This object can be a basketball. The basketball has a applied force when someone is using it or bouncing it. There is always a gravitational force on everything because something is always gonna pull down. There is a normal force because it will come back up when you move your hand because it bounces. Lastly there is a friction force because when the ball rolls on the ground there is a force between the floor and the ball.

vector vs. scalar

The difference between vector and scalar is with scalar you use speed, time, distance and mass. With vector you use velocity, acceleration, displacement, force and weight. The big difference between vector and scalar is that vector quantities are used for force, acceleration, velocity and other items that need to show a magnitude and a direction. Scalars are a quantity with only magnitude. A example of a vector is displacement and an example of scalar is time.

four forces

The four forces are applied force, normal force, tension force and gravitatational force. Applied force is just how it sounds you applie an amount of force on an object. Normal force is when you have a normal force from an object going up. Tension force is when there is two object that are going at each other with the same force and go against each other. Gravitatational force is how it sounds as well it is when you have a force pulling down on an object.

acceleration

An example of acceleration is when a car goes in reverse and they pick up in speed 10 times more that is an example of acceleration because you are changing direction and changing speed.

GUESS

The GUESS method is a method used to solve equations. the G means to say the given. like whats given to you in the equation. The U means to give the unknown. whats unknown in the problem that you dont know . the E is to make an eqation. The first S is to substitute. this means to use what u already know to put into the equation. the last S is to solve the equation.
